We, the Lankaputhra Development Bank Limited, are a Licensed Specialized Bank fully owned by the Government of Sri Lanka established under the Banking Act No 30 of 1988, incorporated in Sri Lanka under the provisions of the companies Act No 17 of 1982.

We cater to the development of agricultural and industrial  sectors of the rural economy. This new initiative is carefully planned to avoid past painful experiences and efforts taken for the same purpose, by previous rulers.

Our efforts are, truly tied up with the grass root level needs of the rural sector. A vital factor in our effort is to help construction, agriculture and industrial sectors of the rural folk by channeling finances, providing advice and render guidance.

Our mission will fulfill the long awaited national development through the development of the rural economy, which is the back bone of the country’s economy.
