		New Comprehensive Rural Credit Scheme (NCRCS)


A special low interest loan scheme introduced for small farmers to enable maintain low cost of production , and thereby a market with better price for their production . Facility is to cultivate paddy and subsidiary food crops as approved by Central Bank of Sri Lanka and pre cultivation activities (production of seed and planting materials) and post cultivation activities (purchase and storage of paddy and other agricultural products).

Objective
		To guarantee a market with better price for small farmers.

For whom
		Individual farmers/group or institutional customers cultivating Paddy, Chillies, Red Onion, Big Onion, Pulsus, Oil Seeds, Other Cereals , Vegetables and Potatos
		Intermediaries who purchase agricultural produce under forward sales contacts.

Loan Amount
		Seed farming, nurseries and planting material : Maximum loan amount LKR. 5 million
		Purchasing of agricultural produce under forward sales contracts : Maximum loan amount LKR. 50 million

Eligible Loan Categories
		To cultivate Paddy and subsidiary food crops as approved by Central Bank of Sri Lanka
		Pre Cultivation activities - production of seed and planting materials
		Post Cultivation activities-Purchase and storage of paddy and other agricultural products

Interest Rate
		Short Term cultivation loans - 12% *
		Purchasing Loans for buyers - 12 % + 2 % Commission *

Repayment Period
		Short Term cultivation loans - 270 days
		Purchasing Loans for buyers - 180 days for paddy, 270 days for other crops
